So here we are with topic Tuesdays, apart from the fact this isn't actually a Tuesday ha-ha. But this is the second part of it, I really like the series actually.

 

Best apps for tracking polish

 

I know that everyone uses apps on their phones, but I don't really like the thought of that. But I actually write mine all down, because I am that geek that is obsessed with stationary so I always find it better to write them down. I do the polishes yearly so 2018 polishes that I have bought as well as putting all the polishes together in a complete list.

I would love to do a spreadsheet but I feel that might be a little difficult to fill it all out. But one day I might get round to do a spreadsheet. But when you are an addict, that is rather hard because you are always buying more no matter how any times you tell yourself you don't need it.

 

 

Topic Tuesdays | #01

So this I something completely different to the blog, this is topic Tuesday. Over on instagram @jodispolish decided to chose nail polish related topics to talk about. There is a hashtag over on instagram if you wanted to go a see other peoples answers #toppictues. I have decided I will be doing these on my blog instead over on my instagram.

Edit - I realise this isn't posted on a Tuesday, but I wanted to get it posted before the other topic come out.

When/How did my nail obsession begin?

Its funny really when I think about this question because I can't really remember. I started this blog in 2013 though which actually surprised me when I looked at it. But I feel the obsession became real in 2014/2015. I was obsessed with looking at nail swatches on blog and stuff, I absolutely loved seeing peoples nails and all the colours. I only started to buy UK polishes. It was probably only at the end of 2016 did I really start to get indie polishes.

I would always bite my nails and I realised if I wore nail polishes my nails would get longer, stronger  and I would not bite them at all. I have such a poor diet and I still to this day can't believe how amazing my nails are, its crazy.

I also discovered Lindsay Does Nails over on YouTube, it makes me so sad that she doesn't make videos anymore. I could listen to her for hours and she had such incredible knowledge on nail polish. Now there has been a lot more nail youtubers out there to watch and I love it. So I guess that is how the obsession came real and I have no shame whatsoever.

Currently Wearing | #195

This was the last nail polish that I had worn in 2017. Lets take a look at it.

 

I wore Tanya Burr New York Night. This only took 2 coats, this is such a deep purple. It isn't as bright in the bottle as its currently looking. I decided I chose to do the aldi carrot advert. Isn't this the cutest look, I am very happy with how this turned out and it looks so cute. I know they do look a little strange on certain places.

2017 | Nail Polish Yearly Favourites

Here is my yearly favourites. I know I am slightly late, but what's new I am always late when it comes to posting. Just to let you know this is such a huge post.

 

BarryM Blue Glacier

I wore this at the end of the year, it is so beautiful. This reminds me of winter icicles. I absolutely love this polish. This took 2 coats and I am so happy with this beautiful polish. I knew this would be an instant favourite.

 

BarryM Pink Lemonade

This isn't a me colour. Don't get me wrong I love pink polishes, but I am more of a green polish kind of person. I found this so delicate and just made my hands look really good ha-ha. I just love this one so much.

BarryM Prickly Pear

This is a gorgeous lilac polish, I don't have many polishes like this. I found this polish so easy to work with, I know I am not the hugest fan of how short my nails are but what can you do. This did take 2/3 coats saying that actually. This was also my 100th polish worn in the untried year.

 

Polish Me Royalty Bluddy Sprouts!
I have literally no words for this polish. I couldn't wait to wear this polish. I absolutely loved this polish it is such an amazing green and this was just two coats. Unfortunately when I wore this I had such a swollen cuticle, gross.

 

 

Polish Me Royalty Alice

Again another polish me royalty, this is such a unique polish. I don't think I have seen anything so magical before. This is a beautiful pale blue with gold running through it. I used two coats but looking back at swatch photos I should have used a third coat.

Primark Insta Glam

Now this was a surprise favourite this year, I just can't tell you why I loved this so much. Sadly this isn't a one coater for me, it took two coats. But that doesn't bother me. I am such a fan of this polish, but it does look quite a waxy texture when it wasn't.

 

Kiko 532 Pearly Amazon Green

Wow! What a polish this is, I could not wait to wear this polish. Isn't this such a perfect green and greens are just so perfect all the time. This took 1/2 coats and this could have been just a one coater. But it needed to deepen the colour just a little. This is probably the top polish of 2017.

 

Sally Hansen Coin Flip

This is a beautiful polish, I have had this for so long and it never really got a look in. This is a gorgeous gold shade and it took 2 coats. I am very happy because this is something so different for me to use. I also loved the nail art with this one. Again this isn't nail art I would usually do.

 

Essence Happy Girls Shine Brighter

Again essence you have done well, I applaud you. This is gorgeous, I always buy pink polishes but never usually wear them that often. This took 1/2 coats and it probably could have been just the one coater. I have to say this is just so perfect.

 

Sinful Colors Blue By You

I have no words for this absolute beauty, I loved it so much. This took 2/3 coats, I didn't wait to take this off because it is perfect. I am so annoyed that we can't get sinful colors as much in the UK, the only time really is in poundland or other random shops.

 

Essence Beam Me Up

This is so beautiful. Again essence did good. This is absolutely gorgeous, I don't have many holographic polishes but I am a huge fan of them. I didn't get them all, but this is one of my favourites of the year.

 

Rimmel Bestival Blue

Yes yes, when I was searching through my polishes I forgot what polishes I had even worn. I really loved this one, I don't wear rimmel polishes enough. I make that my mission to wear as many as i can this year.

 

 

Essie Jade To Measure

I have no words for this polish, this was one of the last couple of polishes used in 2017. Essie were just so amazing last year and this was a lot of peoples favourites this year and I can so see why.

 

 

Pretty Perfect Polish Why Can't They Tell Us Apart?!

I loved this polish so much. I am so happy that I got to try pretty perfect polish. I have loads to wear and i cannot wait. This is a very pretty light green and as soon as I put the first swipe of polish on it was going to be in my favourites immediately.

 

 

Leighton Denny Let Your Hair Down

This is such a unique colour, I haven't got many colours like this and I am such a fan of it. Leighton Denny was a new brand to me this year and I am so glad that I got this. I think I will branch out more in colours.

 

Technic Happy Holidays

This is a beautiful polish, this was again a surprise. I really liked bright pink shades. I am so happy with this polish. This took just 2 coats. I also loved this nail art even if i wasn't the greatest at the hearts.

 

Miss Beauty Mermaid

This is a huge surprise polish. I have never looked at this brand before and it took me by surprise. This was just £1 and you should never judge a nail polish by the price. I am so happy with how this polish went, doesn't it look pure perfection.

Currently Wearing | #194

This is one of my favourite nail polishes of 2017, I absolutely loved it. I am so happy with how amazing this is.

 

This is Essie Jade To Measure, I am so in love with this polish. It is so different as well because Essie don't usually do green like this, but this is incredible. This is from the gel couture line and I cannot wait to try more because I love it so much. This took 2 coats and it was fully opaque.

Hayley's Cartoon Nails | 2017

This is the overview of my Hayley's cartoon nails hashtag which I did over on instagram.

 

I am pleased that I completed the 12 months. I know I am not very good when it comes to nail at but I am very happy with them all. I used a multiple of different brands and I am very happy with them. I actually think my favourite one was piglet just because I love piglet. I also loved the Leighton Denny cute little starfish. Isn't he adorable? I am very happy with this challenge, I wont be doing this much anymore, but there will be cartoon nail arts in the future.

I have completely forgot about my currently wearing posts. I promise I will be better at this blogging stuff ha-ha.

 

I am wearing Revlon Vintage Rose, this is beautiful. I can see why its called vintage rose because it is such a classic shade. I also used a decal, I originally thought this was a sticker but it was a water decal. So basically I had to put it in water and it just needed to be peeled off of the cardboard. All you needed to do was put a top coat over it and it stayed like anything. This also took 2 coats and I picked this up in Poundland.

2017 Nail Resolutions | Overview

I know I am rather behind on posting this but who cares haha. So these are the overview of my 2017 nail resolutions. I hope 2018 is an amazing year for us all!

1. To try more UK indie brands and to get new ones. - I have tried 3 brands this year which include Polish Me Royalty, Pretty Perfect Polish and Glitter Baby Nails. But I also bought a lot of new indie brands, but I wont go through them as I hope to wear some in 2018.

 

2. Hopefully take part in a mani-swap, nail swap an just recreating other peoples designs - I took part in 2 mai swaps. I was also in a few collabs, a birthday collab as well as one for Brain Tumour Awareness. I really hope this year I can do many more as I love interacting with the very talented ladies over on instagram.

 

3. Hopefully to get 400 followers on Instagram. - Weirdly enough with instagram messing up the algorithim and stuff, I got over 500 followers in 2017. I just wish instagram was back to how it was before, I am bored of seeing posts from about 4 days ago.

 

4. I'd like to do more nail art challenges. - I did three nail art challenges that year, I took part in Glam Nails Challenge in February, July and August.

 

5. Complete #hayleyscartoonnails which I will do a version of cartoon nails each month. - I completed 12 cartoon nail arts, I will be doing a whole blog past soon.

6. To buy a glam polish, hard to get in the UK I will have to work out a way which I can actually buy them. - Unfortunately I didn't buy a glam polish.

 

7. To use my striping tape and stickers more. - I used stickers and striping tape, I will try and use more.

 

8. I want to try/buy a cupcake polish. - Yes I succeed this one, I got the infamous Cupcake Polish Berry Good Looking.

 

9. To buy a kbshimmer polish - Yes I did that one. I got one for Christmas. I actually got Kbshimmer Cubicle Pusher.

 

10. Carry on with the untried year. - Yes I carried on and succeeded. I used 70 nail polishes and actually used 39 brands in total. I absolutely loved using different brands and I am so happy about it. I hope 2018 is the year I wear many more than 70, I can only hope even if it was just 71 polishes.

This is a Christmas polish, I am just so happy about this one.

 

This is Polish Me Royalty Bluddy Sprouts! Can we talk about how absolutely stunning this nail is. I cannot believe how beautiful this polish is, when I bought this at January I was just so excited when I could finally get round to wearing this. This took 2 coats and you know this was always going to be a favourite because its green haha!

I have my first post in 2018. Happy New Year everyone!

These are my cartoon nails, if you remember my series then this is one of them. I have always wanted to do pusheen nails. I used AVON Rain Washed, this took me 2/3 coats. I really love this nail polish, it is just so pretty. I put some glitter on my nails too because I didn't fancy them looking pretty plain. I am such a fan of this nail polish and have actually wanted to wear this nail polish for so long. I used the Miss Sporty polish that I have used just so many times.
