Monthly Haul | January 2018

Can we believe that I am late with this post, nope me neither ha-ha. But anyway here we are lets see what I bought in January.

 

The first 4 polishes of 2018 I bought were Ard as nails in the sale. I have Friday Fri-Yay, The Cabbage Cocktail, Commuter Hell and Sparklers. I have three BarryMs because they had an offer on, 3 for 2. These are all brand new, think the topper may have come out quite late in December. I have Blueberry Bon Bon, Coconut Cream and the glitter Whimsical Dream. I picked up two essies from feelunique. Essie Topless & Barefoot, this was January colour of the month. I also have Midnight Cami which is a deep blue. I also went to tkmaxx and picked up two polishes. Tkmaxx is one of my favourite shops to have a look at because you never know what you are going to find. I picked up OPI First Class Desires and Essie S'il Vous Play. I have three Primark polishes. Primark are always bringing out so many amazing polishes. I have Marine, Dolce and Sweet Plum.

How am I on 200 currently wearing posts, this is crazy. But I absolutely love posting these even though I usually am very behind with them ha-ha.

 

These were my birthday nails. I used Avon Yellow Gold which I got ages ago but as always completely forgot about them because they weren't actually written down. This is why I need a spreadsheet because its becoming a problem ha-ha. I used some random polishes actually just to do the balloons and a present nail. I am very pleased with how they turned out. I thought they look pretty good.

 

Currently Wearing | #199

This is Essie's colour of the month. On the first of every month, Essie will post there colour of the month. I decided I would take part in this every month, even though I don't have most of the classic Essie's I will have to buy them. This is one of them that I had to buy.

 

This is Essie Topless & Barefoot. This took 2/3 coats to apply. I have to be honest, this isn't a colour I would usually wear. I don't like nudes, I mean this one looks nice. But that's about it, I am not a fan of it. I think it does look good on my nails and I have got used to it as well being on my nails. This applied really well too. I think I will have to branch out and try and wear more nude polishes in the future.

Topic Tuesdays | #04

Again a topic Tuesday not posted on a Tuesday! Absolute shock. But here it is anyway. This is my most owned brands, so we had to pick top 5 from those brands.

 

BarryM is one of my favourite brands and I love them. I have Cardamom, key lime which I haven't used in so long. I wish I wasn't doing the untried year then I would be using this polish some more times. This is Sparkling Amethyst, which was a limited edition sparkly gelly. I wish they made more of these as it is so pretty. Blue Glacier and Prickly Pear have only recently been worn. So they are very much loved.

 

I am going to be honest I found Models Own quite tricky because I have so many polishes from Models Own and just as not many used which is a real shame. I have Lunar Grey, which isn't a polish I would usually love as it looks quite dull being a grey. But I absolutely love it. Next I have Flip Flop, this is a very fluorescent green and I love it. Emerald Green is one of my all time favourite polishes. I have Magpie which was from the Easter collection ages ago. Then I have Hot Chocolate, this is just a brown polish. Nothing much to it but I am very much a fan.

So I have another birthday collab for you. I was a little confused when I looked through my instagram and realised this was the next currently wearing because I had to wait a little bit to post this because of the date of the birthday collaboration.

 

I found this design when I was on Google, this is just so pretty. I am a huge fan of this colour. I am wearing Rimmel Go Wild-Er-Ness with BarryM Limited Edition Superdrug Pink Glitter. I am obsessed with flower nails, I love seeing so many flowers designs. I will try to do more flower nail art because that is something I really am getting the hang of. The theme of this birthday collaboration was purple nails.

Currently Wearing | #197

This is a birthday collab, this is something that I wanted to do when it comes to my nail resolutions. I took part in a couple last year and I absolutely loved it. I love interacting with people on the nail instagram community.

 

I was inspired by nailsbyfg, the theme for the birthday collaboration was animals or animal prints. I decided I would do fox nails because this was on my saved instagram pictures folder. I absolutely love that instagram do that because I have so many recreations planned. I might do a few recreations posts.

I used Revlon Spanish Moss, this was a bargain that I picked up in poundland. This took 2 coats an it is a beautiful mossy green. I think this might be one of my favourite green polishes.

Here is the collaboration picture. It is full of lots of lovely manis and amazing ladies. Thank you again for being invited, it really is an honour.

Season Picks | Winter 2018

Am I a little bit late when it comes to season picks? I completely forgot about them to be honest. So here it is, lets take a look.

 

I have Models Own Fine Flicker, this is a textured gold glitter. This is perfect for the Christmas time. I don't have a huge selection of gold polishes but I am very happy that I picked this up in Tkmaxx. OPI My Pal Joey, is a deep blue. This is just so pretty and I don't wear blue enough. Essence Frozen Kiss is a gorgeous polish, it is like an icy white and I absolutely love it. I have three Ciate polishes, this is from the 2017 advent calendar. I have cosmic love, locket and midnight in Paris. I have a Wikkid Polish Ice Ice Baby, this is a holographic icy blue. I have Sinful Colors Blue La La, isn't this an incredible cornflower blue. I am such a fan of this colour and I was so happy when I finally got this. I have Models Own White Light, I am still finding that perfect white polish. I have Kbshimmer Cubicle Pusher, this is an absolute beautiful purple, taupe holographic.  

2017 | What I Got For Christmas

Well as you can see I am very behind when it comes to my posts. But I have eventually got the post ready ha-ha.

 These are the polishes I got, Kbshimmer Cubicle Pusher which was hangig in a bauble on the Christmas tree. Then three china glaze polishes, the infamous Sin-Derella, Queen Of Sequins and Baroque Jungle. I also have the unicorn duo which is rainbow wishes and dream dust. I cannot wait to get round to wearing these because they all so beautiful.

Of course I have some nail wheels, I am obsessed with nail swatching and I very happy with it. I have two nail files so they always come in handy. I have two sets of vinyl's, I have snowflakes and jigsaws. I am so excited to get round to wearing this because I am interested to see how they work. I have an emoji plate, I might do a nail plate post soon. I have the beauty parlour nail polish set with lots of pretty pastels. I do have one polish set which is missing because I left it downstairs.

 

I picked up the Ard As Nails Christmas collection. I was so happy with them. I have chestnuts roasting, star treause, merry berry Christmas, first frost and coming home fir Christmas.

Currently Wearing | #196

So this was the first time I had done my nails in 2018. I always make sure that I do my nails on the 1st January. I am not entirely sure why but I always feel I get more polishes worn in January which is strange. Anyway lets see what I wore.

I wore Kiko 515 Metallic Plain Chocolate, this took 2 coats. Do you remember when I bought all those kiko polishes, well I am slowly getting y way through them. I do have a post planned on that coming soon. This is stunning brown that has a pink shift running through it, you can just see it in the bottle. I do have a swatch photo of this on its own for you to see. I used Models Own Blizzard, this isn't necessarily an untried but I have actually marked it down as an untried in the untried year.

Here is the base of Kiko Metallic Plain Chocolate which was actually 2 coats. It does have a pink shimmer running through it which is stunning. It is hard to get to see it, but I liked it in the bottle.

Topic Tuesdays | #03

Again it isn't Tuesday, I am here with a Topic Tuesday. I am enjoying scrolling through the hashtag to see what everyone has to say about each topic.

How many polishes do I own?

 

At the moment I own over 1100+. I haven't fully looked at it. That may be super excessive. But I have no problem with it. No matter how many times I tell myself to go and not buy any polishes, that just isn't going to work. I am very nosey and always want to know how many polishes people own. I know people may say it is too many, some may say too little.

 

As long as you love nail polish and its your passion, as well as an addiction. There is nothing wrong with how many nail polishes you own. This does include my base and top coats. I also dislike it when people say you have too many. Well that isn't any of your business is it. I have had family members comment on that, but I just ignore it. Most people who I went to school go out and drink, take drugs and have kids. So that isn't me ha-ha. (I have no problem with people drinking or having children, but majority of people I was in school with have children soo).

My 2018 Nail Resolutions

I am so late with this post, I have no idea why this post has taken me so long to get round to writing this. But none the less it is here.

 

1. The untried year to be carried on with. This is the third full year that I have been doing the untried year for. I am currently on 150+ untried polishes used. I am getting through it slowly but surely, they are getting used.

2. To take part in more collaborations. This may include birthday or any event collaborations. This might be like national days like brain tumour awareness day. I have done that one before.

3. To do more nail art challenges. I love doing nail art challenges because it gives you a reason to do more nail art that I wouldn't usually take part or even think about doing. So I would like to do a few more if I have time in a few months.

4. To buy more indie brands - UK or American brands. I probably don't need anymore nail polish, but of course I am going to be buying more. I want to be branching out and trying many different brands.

5. To try and do more stamping. I have so many stamping products, I want to get more stamping polishes and this will be my main resolution this year because I don't want it to go to waste.

6. To try and do more on my blog. I am very behind on most things when it comes to this blog. I will try lots and lots to get better.

7. To use a variety of different nail polishes. This might seem strange, I am only ever using crème polishes. I don't have a ton of holographics or duochromes. So I will slightly get out of my comfort zone but meaning I need more polish.

8. To reach 600 instagram followers. This may be a lot harder because of all the algorithms. This is one of my goals, I would absolutely love to get to it. I know instagram isn't about followers but I would like to reach another milestone.

9. To try and take better pictures. I am always taking pictures on my iPad. It isn't the greatest quality of photos but they do work well. I am sure I will get better quality photos, it doesn't help how dark it is.

10. To get more kbshimmers. I need just so many more, I know I said above I wanted indies, but I will get lots and lots more.
